Warmest wishes to you and your loved ones this holiday season. The end of the year is always a special time for me…an opportunity to focus on family, reflect on where we have been, and cherish where we are now.

Here at Lake Michigan Credit Union, it always comes back to you, our members. While the past year has continued to introduce new challenges for everyone, all of us at LMCU are blessed to be able to continue to serve you and your families. You have invited us to work with you during some of the most significant moments of your life — like buying your first home, financing a vehicle, or creating a welcoming nursery for your first child. We appreciate the trust you put in us and take it to heart.

I’m happy to say that during this past year, we crossed the 500,000-member mark. This is quite the milestone, especially considering that is over twice as many members who made up the credit union just 10 years ago. I know our growth is a testament to our commitment to making a difference in our members’ lives and offering simply the best value, products, and warmest service possible.

High school seniors can win a $2,000 Hutt Scholarship. 

The 2021-2022 Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship is accepting entries now through January 31, 2022. Entrants are asked to write an essay on this year’s topic, “Tell us about the you of today, and what we can expect to see in the you of tomorrow.”

The 20 selected winners will each be awarded a $2,000 college scholarship. All applicants must be high school seniors (including home school students) and plan to enter a trade school, college, or university in the next academic year.

With fewer buyers in the market as competition, this could provide more opportunities to close on your dream home.

3. Temperatures aren't the only thing falling — rates are low.

With historic low rates and down payments as low as 3%,* you can find your dream home for less.

4. Everything else is on sale, too.

If you need a new couch, new area rug, or home décor, chances are there’s a holiday sale for that. However, bear in mind that new debt and lines of credit can affect the financing of your home. If you’re eyeing that couch and can’t pay out of pocket right now, maybe wait until after you close.

Join us for LMCU Night with the Griffins!

Cheer on the Grand Rapids Griffins for a night of rousing hockey action on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Van Andel Arena. This annual event offers LMCU members discounted upper and lower bowl ticket pricing along with a free t-shirt to commemorate the occasion.

Please note, this year discounted tickets will only be available for purchase online. LMCU branches will not have any physical tickets for sale. Tickets went on sale beginning November 22 and can be purchased by visiting LMCU.org/Contests.
