What’s the Deal with Digital Wallets?

If you’re looking for a great way to stay organized digital wallets might be for you. No more fumbling for cash or plastic. Simply use your smartphone, pay, and be on your way.

What is a Digital Wallet?

A digital wallet is just like it sounds. It’s a digital way to store multiple forms of payment, including debit cards, credit cards, and even gift cards. This system stores digital versions of your cards; however, your card number and personal information are not stored. This is an added security measure for your protection. Digital payment services like Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, or Samsung Pay work with your smartphone for contact-free payment at checkout.

Apple Users

If you are an Apple user, Apple Pay® is the way to go. Link your credit or debit cards to your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. Look for the digital wallet pay symbol at checkout. Hold your device near the reader while placing your finger on the Touch ID™ and voila! No need to open the app or wake up the display.

Android Users

Android users can take advantage of Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay. Anyone with a Google account can use the mobile payment system to make purchases online or in stores with contactless pay. Samsung Pay gives the ability to carry multiple cards for contactless payment or pay online.

Lake Michigan Credit Union members have the ability to link the LMCU Visa® credit and debit cards to their preferred digital wallet. This will keep you organized as you pay on the go, in-app, or online.

Google Pay is a trademark of Google LLC
