COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is affecting every area of our lives, and at LMCU, we know your finances are no exception. We recognize that we can’t afford to operate like it’s business as usual because there is nothing usual about our present circumstances. Instead, LMCU is taking measures to ensure each and every member has the financial support necessary.

Reading five books could win your child $100!(That’s like a millionzillion dollars to them.)

Max’s Reading Adventure returns this March, challenging kids to hit the books for a chance to win $100. Read at least five books during the month of March to be eligible. Fill out an entry form available in our branches or on LMCU.org March 1 through March 31. Once your child has read five books, entry forms can be dropped off at the nearest LMCU branch or completed online at LMCU.org. Each branch will draw one winner on April 17 for the $100 prize.

The 2019-2020 Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship deadline is approaching

Over the last 30 years, LMCU’s Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship program has awarded graduating high school seniors $391,500 to 237 students to help pay for college. Entrants are asked to write an essay addressing a given topic. This year’s topic is, “In 30 years, what’s the one thing you hope you still have and why?” Essays are evaluated by a panel of independent judges based on passion for the topic. Creativity, originality, clarity, grammar, and spelling are also considered.

Celebrating 30 years of scholarships.

This year, we’re celebrating the Hutt Scholarship’s 30th year of educational support. Since LMCU originally began as Grand Rapids Teachers Credit Union, we have a special spot for education. This annual scholarship program provides high school seniors with the opportunity to win one of 15 $2,000 college scholarships.
